Enemies, Neighbors, Friends

Preacher:
Passage: Luke 10:25-37
Service Type:

Life in the Kingdom of God is lived in stark contrast with life in the ‘kingdom’ of unredeemed people. The differences were constantly highlighted by Jesus’ way of life, his teachings, and the revealing of the intimacy of his relationship with his Father. Whether for those seeking to know more, to understand more, or for those wishing to put him on the spot, to trap him, Jesus bluntly challenged current thinking. He had an urgency to unveil the contents of hearts and provide immediate opportunities to grow up into Kingdom likeness.

“Your ancestors have also been taught ‘Love your neighbors and hate the one who hates you.’ However, I say to you, love your enemy, bless the one who curses you, do something wonderful for the one who hates you, and respond to the very ones who persecute you by praying for them.” Mark 5:43,44, TPT.
