Focus for the Journey
As we imagine the disciples’ head-spinning days following the Resurrection, we can also picture the unaltered, laser focus of Jesus. Looking back at his previous interactions, teachings, and examples, one single drum beat resounds. But also unchanged is the scattered thinking of the disciples. Most likely, the forty post-Resurrection days Jesus spent with them before going back to the Father were to help his now bewildered-more-than-ever disciples to clearly see the main theme of his ministry, the true heart of his mission.
