Our Mission:
Equipping people, Building relationships, Bringing hope to a hurting world
Welcome!
We are the Vineyard Church of the Peninsula, currently meeting via Zoom, as well as in person once per month. We are happy to be in Hampton Roads as members of the growing Community of Churches called ‘Vineyard’ across the US and beyond. As a church of families, we like to celebrate the life Jesus has given us. Ours is a contemporary, non-stuffy manner when we meet on Sundays at 10 AM. You’ll find normal people sipping caffeine and munching on some kind of donut or other similar nutrition source. We try to focus on making our 21st Century lives work with The Bible as a ‘Life Bible’. We pray, teach and encourage. And we like each other, often hanging around long after our meeting time is over when we meet in person. Whether you just moved to Hampton Roads, got transferred here, have lived here forever, or are just vacationing here, we’re always excited to include new folks in our family. So, the welcome is sincere. Drop us a line if you’d like to join us!

A Note From Pastor Don
On becoming Get-to’s
Meltdowns. We’ve all (likely) been guilty of foisting one or two of those screaming hissy fits (with alligator tears and foot stompings) on unhappy parents (followed up, if we’re old enough for...
Disturbing or Distilling?
Are we ‘got to’s or ‘get to’s? That’s today’s burning question. Here are a few possible scenarios (out of thousands!) to help us move closer to determining the answer: 1. We’re ten years old...
Stories Worth Telling
Wouldn’t it be fascinating to do a Prequel to Jesus’ public ministry, highlighting, especially, the pre-Jesus lives of the twelve guys who would become disciples, then friends, of this one called...
There’s a way that seems right…
I guess I‘m a tad word-nerdy. I really get into new words, sometimes making them up myself to fit a given situation (it’s possible you’ve noticed). And I was very recently introduced to new-to-me...
The Best and Then Some!
Barriers can be helpful things: netting against mosquitoes, insulation against the extremes of hot or cold, riprap against shoreline erosion, levees against floods, sunscreen against UV damage,...
And the winner is …
There are moments in our lives which change everything: a madly loved ‘friend’ becomes a fiancée/fiancé, the job promotion comes through, the house sells, the perfect house is found, the diploma is...
