New Overcomes Old
We are the redeemed, the born again, the called-out ones, the forgiven, God’s Beloved, the co-heirs with Christ, the alive forevermore ones. In all this, we say Amen! to those in heaven shouting: “Salvation . . . belong(s) to our God.” (Rev. 19:1 NLT.) Back to him we sing: ‘not to us, Oh Lord, but to your Name be the glory forever and ever.’ Our previous non-significance has been entirely swept away in the streams of God’s mercy toward us. We confess: ‘Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit who lives in us and was given to us by God. We do not belong to ourselves, for God bought us with a high price. So, we must honor God with our bodies.’ (1 Cor. 6:19, personalized).
