Because of Pentecost Kids
Bible Text: 1 Corinthians 1:20-22, Acts 9:1-22, Galatians 5:22-23, Ephesians 3:14-21 | Preacher: Don Freeman | Series: Because of Pentecost Kids | Even ‘hyperbole’, that witty literary device that deliberately exaggerates for effect, is left wanting when it comes to talking about the change that took place inside Jesus’ disciple/friends. And as only God could orchestrate, they were each the same person as before while totally ‘new’ at the same time. The Apostle Paul attempted to clarify this by saying, ‘the old has gone, the new has come,’ that, in Christ, all are ‘a new creation.’ (2 Cor. 5:17) but a dilemma always arises when employing human speak to describe God and Trinity and eternity and Kingdom – and, in this case, all things Holy Spirit. So, as clumsy as clumsy is, we forge ahead making stabs at understanding the impact of God disrupting us, making us live as Because-of-Pentecost kids.
