Faith Waiting

Preacher:
Passage: Acts 1:1-13
Service Type:

Faith Waiting

It’d been three days! Three very weird, frightening, tormented days. It seemed he’d really gone – even though the angel talked about Jesus’ eventual return. But the only instruction he left was to wait – one of the toughest assignments yet! Worse still, no one actually knew what this ‘baptism’, this ’gift,’ was that they were waiting for, when ‘it’ would occur or what their lives would become afterwards. Their joy at Jesus’ return from the grave had morphed into a mockery of their naïveté. Their faith was straining big time as they scrounged for answers in all that Jesus had told them, attempting to find the timeline of their current, fear-imposed lock-in and desperately trying to uncover something positive about this.
