We are a besieged people. For thirty months we’ve been mandated to: close down, isolate, mask up, sanitize, sanitize, sanitize, get tested, quarantine, social distance, stay home, and gobs more. Then, we’ve dealt (and continue to deal) with global political mayhem, societal upheaval, moral morass, and Bible anarchy. We are prodded to live on high alert, constantly triggered, ‘on our last nerve,’ in ‘ready to fight’ mode. As a result, overwhelm is rampant in many sectors of the world. A besieged people is a desperate people, a people needing relief, peace, hope, in short, Truth.
And here’s the Truth: We all have sinned and are in need of the glory of God.1 Everyone who believes in [the Son of Man] will never perish but experience everlasting life.2 Contrary to man’s perspective, the Lord is not late with his promise to return, as some measure lateness. But rather, his ‘delay’ simply reveals his loving patience toward you, because he does not want any to perish but all to come to repentance.3 God always makes his grace visible in Christ, who includes us as partners of his endless triumph. Through our yielded lives he spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere we go.4 “You will be my messengers.”5
If ever there existed a need to trumpet the message of Good News to a hurting world, today is the day. If ever there was a people equipped to bring the message of Good News to a hurting world, we are they. If ever there was a faith sufficiently Truth-grounded, sufficiently Power-based, to destroy the works of the enemy, it is ours in Christ. If ever there was a Love sufficiently passionate, sufficiently longsuffering, to reclaim and restore lost and broken souls, it is that same Love Who ransomed us! If ever there was an expression of thanks in response to all we’ve received (and that the world would notice), it is our lives, beautifully surrendered in worship. Looking forward to seeing the beauty of Christ on your faces tomorrow at 10 AM, 4 PM, 6 PM. PD
