Bible Text: Matthew 11:28-29, Matthew 9:36, Matthew 14:23, Luke 10:42-43, John 17:14, Romans 12:2, 1 Corinthians 13:12, 1 John 3:2 | Preacher: Don Freeman | Busy. Weary. Frustrated. Sleep-deprived. Anxious. Ticked off. Overloaded. Exhausted. Headache. Rat race. Traffic! Fed up. Stressed out. Discouraged.

Are these words familiar sounding to you? Compared with the promise of Jesus in Matthew 11:28-29, they are just alien! Is there hope, today, for a follower of Jesus to know, really know, that kind of existence? I mean, no more Monday morning blues or celebrating hump day or TGIF or living for: the weekend, a better job, a better boss, retirement, winning the lottery? Spoiler alert: YES!

Jesus’ Promise:
“Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me – watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn how to live freely and lightly.”
