In Praise of ‘Much More’

Passage: 1 Corinthians 2:6-12, Ephesians 3:1-6, 1 Peter 1:3-7, Romans 16:25-27

Jesus told his disciples that he had much more to say to them concerning the Gift of Salvation, more detail than they were able to bear at the moment, more of its included, astonishing treasures. For over 2,000 years now, there have been revivals, renewals, new waves, new moves of the Spirit. And each time what is most true is that these have been simply fresh awakenings, fresh winds, fresh interests, fresh glimpses into something old, something hinted at long before. Each season of heightened spiritual growth since that day is proof of the ‘much more’ Jesus referred to and proof of Jesus’ keen awareness of our frail human capacity to absorb Kingdom bounty.
