All of the All

Passage: Mark 2: 23-28
Service Type:

Adam’s sin unleashed a perpetual avalanche of brokenness upon mankind. All peoples, languages and nations continue to ‘groan until the sons of God are revealed.’ Lying and blame-shifting are rampant with devastating consequences. Legalism and perfectionism are an all too familiar, if suffocating, duo. Jesus, throughout his brief itinerary, headed straight into these cultural winds, outlining the glories of his Father’s Kingdom, elating the masses of poor and needy, the sick and invisible, and infuriating the Establishment (the whitewashed tombs, the illegitimate ones, the sons of Satan, the brood of vipers, etc.). At every turn, God’s Kingdom advance was simultaneously greeted with mounting joy and opposed with mounting hatred. The clash of receptions led Jesus to the cross and to ultimate victory. And the Good News of his Kingdom is our inheritance today.
