Hopeful Waiting

As we enter this season, we look around at our world and at ourselves and acknowledge that there is deep darkness, that much is not as it should be. Wars and treachery and man’s inhumanity to man are rampant realities. As believers in Jesus, we find it a struggle to maintain Kingdom-oriented lives, and yet, and yet! We have this audacious promise:

His breath filled all things with a living, breathing light –
a light that thrives in the depths of darkness,
blazes through murky bottoms. It cannot and will not be quenched.
