Vineyard Kids

Note: Due to Covid-19, we are currently not holding children’s classes, as we are not meeting in person as a church. Children’s educational activities and materials are emailed to families with children.

What we believe about children:
Children are a gift from the Lord to families and a treasure to the Body of Christ. Each is created with unique qualities and is expressly designed by God to worship Him and to have a personal relationship with Him. It is our prayer that all children will receive the Father’s love, and His salvation and character through Jesus Christ. We believe that young ones are able to bring God’s love and hope to a hurting world as they grow in grace and are conformed to His image.

Our Mission:
Partnering with families in these ways:
1) to equip children with a biblical foundation in a loving and safe learning environment
2) to model and teach grace-filled, Christ-like relationships
3) to provide simple yet powerful opportunities to advance God’s Kingdom, thus bringing hope to a hurting world.

Our Curriculum:

252 Basics is a monthly web-based, Bible-based curriculum designed for Kindergarten through 5th-graders created by a discipleship organization called Orange. (Orange= yellow flame of the church and the red heart of the home partnering together.

“252 Basics is based on one of three basic, but powerful, truths modeled by Jesus in Luke 2:52:”
I need to make the wise choice.
I can trust God no matter what.
I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

The Four Faith Skills Include:
“Hear – Listen to God’s Word.”
“Pray – Dialogue with God.”
“Talk – Articulate you faith.”
“Live – Worship with your life.”

The curriculum “is designed to provoke discovery and invite kids into a new understanding of how to grow in relationship with Jesus.” For more information, see their website.

What You Can Expect:
Currently, we offer a children’s ministry time for kids ages K-5 through 5th grade. Children remain with parents during our worship portion of the service to see joyful worship of Jesus modelled for them. At break time, students are signed in by their parents and then enter the classroom which is right next to the sanctuary. Instruction time includes: singing, teaching and applying the lesson through the reading of the Scriptures, storytelling, discussion, crafts and computer downloads to visually enhance comprehension, Bible verse memorization and prayer. (A small snack is provided.) Children are released to parents at the end of the service.
Our Current Outreach: Vineyard Kids are currently involved in collecting food and brown grocery bags for the “York Co. Food Closet.”
