Our Path to Joy

Preacher:
Passage: Romans 5:8, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Ephesians 1:22-23, Ephesians 2:1-6, Luke 6:27-36, Matthew 5:38-42
Service Type:

Jesus tore down every barrier separating us: blood-stained our sin, killed off death, bequeathed grace, re-established relationship possibility with himself; and now he invites us to live his life! All this in joy-filled anticipation of the day we would accept this bigger-than-big invitation. The moment we say, ‘Yes!’ kicks off a lifelong journey of transformation from immaturity to maturity, to be completed upon seeing him face to face. Until then, there are things to learn and many more things to un-learn. Paul, in Philippians 1:6, injects this hope: “I pray with great faith for you, because I’m fully convinced that the One who began this glorious work in you will faithfully continue the process of maturing you and will put his finishing touches to it until the unveiling of our Lord Jesus Christ!” Our in-Christ lives are super-saturated with provision and beyond-belief, zealously-maintained hesed/agape – ‘a life-giving forever bond with no mechanism in the brain to unglue us.’*
